Vanessa Castaneda – Patient Navigator

Vanessa Castaneda is a Patient Navigator for prostate cancer radiation therapy and a Medical Assistant with over 10 years experience in healthcare including two years at Urology Austin. Vanessa received her Medical Assistant Certification from the National Institute of Technology (N.I.T.) here in Austin. Vanessa started at Urology Austin as an Medical Assistant who was cross-trained in Testosterone Pellet Authorization and was quickly promoted to Radiation Navigator.

As a Patient Navigator, Vanessa functions as the main point of contact for men who are being treated for prostate cancer with radiation therapy at the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology. As a Navigator, Vanessa plans to expand her knowledge to benefit patients, and continue to grow with Urology Austin. Her commitment is based on how much she has enjoyed and loved her work serving patients at Urology Austin.

Vanessa is originally from California and loves spending time with her husband and three children, along with crafting, hiking and traveling.
