As we wrap up the first quarter of 2023, our primary focus is on planning out all of the details of initiatives that we will begin implementing in the coming months. This year, you’ll be hearing about a lot of exciting changes at Urology Austin, all designed to improve patient care and your experience with our facilities and our team.
At this time, we are intensely focused on improving patients’ ability to access information and get help from our team by phone. We have troubleshooted our process for handling our high volume of incoming calls, and are establishing new processes, procedures and training to ensure that all patient requests and questions are handled in a timely manner. This is especially important for calls that are referred to our clinical team, as we know that you often need a same-day response for your urgent medical questions.
Our goal is to complete the implementation of our new processes and team training over the next 60 to 90 days, creating a permanent, seamless process for efficiently addressing incoming calls going forward. I welcome your feedback at Craig.Ortego@urologyaustin.com.
Also this year, we are making plans to expand certain services to provide more access to more patients. Construction of our new surgery center is on track to be completed by summer 2024, and we are also working to expand our radiation oncology services to include new bladder and renal cancer programs. Currently, our Austin Center for Radiation Oncology is heavily focused on prostate cancer treatment, so we look forward to being able to treat more patients facing other types of cancer very soon.
You’ll also soon hear more about our introduction of a new, state-of-the-art infusion therapy program that will give additional treatment options to patients with prostate cancer.
It’s shaping up to be a groundbreaking year for Urology Austin, and we are delighted to have you with us as we expand our capabilities to better serve the people of Central Texas and beyond.
