Loren Jones, MD received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Afterwards, he attended the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. He completed his six-year urology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is board certified in urology.

Dr. Jones has special interest in minimally-invasive surgery, treating a wide variety of urologic conditions with different techniques, including percutaneous procedures for kidney stone extraction, laparoscopy, and GreenLight laser and Urolift surgery for enlarged prostate. He is an expert in complex kidney stone extraction specializing in cutting-edge tubeless, outpatient percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). He also specializes in advance microsurgical procedures for male infertility patients.

Loren Jones sees both male and female patients, and treats all general urologic conditions including complex kidney stones, enlarged prostate (BPH), urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone. In addition, Dr. Jones diagnoses and treats patients with bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.

Dr. Jones has published a book chapter on the treatment of male infertility. He has also been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional, national, and international meetings on many urologic topics.

I was diagnosed with a kidney stone last Friday and was referred to Urology Austin. I tried to make an appointment online over the weekend but couldn't confirm since the office was closed. I went in on Monday morning with no confirmed appointment and fortunately, Dr. Jones was able to see me. He looked at the CT scan images I brought from the ER and showed me where it was and what my options were. We were able to schedule the Lithotripsy procedure to blast it out this past Thursday. Dr. Jones made sure to answer all my questions in the office and the day of the procedure. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone in the office was also friendly and helpful. Dr. Loren Jones performed my Vasectomy 3 weeks ago. Dr. Jones was outgoing, professional and I have had no negative repercussions from the surgery. The surgery itself took what seemed like less than 10 minutes, and was painless. Afterwards, the doctor and several of his co-worker gave me sage advice on how to treat the wound and I was back at 100% less than a week after.
